Okavango Special 2021

1 January 2021 - 30 June 2021 On Request

The Khwai Private Reserve is 200,000 hectares of Botswana’s Best kept secret as well as home to Sable Alley, a piece of light, bright and beautiful luxury amid the game-rich floodplains of Khwai. The reserve itself is within Botswana’s most talked about region, the Okavango Delta. 4 nights with your camera in the Okavango Delta is like no other, moving from dry land to wetland, traversing the meandering palm and papyrus fringed waterways, passing palm fringed islands, and thick woodland, resplendent with lush vegetation, and rich in wildlife. The heart-stopping excitement of big game viewing, the supreme tranquillity and serenity of an untouched delta, and evocative scenes of extraordinary natural beauty makes this a one of the best photography destinations in Africa. This will not be another photo workshop, it will be a masterclass of recognising your environment, accepting it and producing relevant images from the experience. We will spend time learning that either side of the moment we choose to press the shutter is a journey of discovery – the journey of capture and the journey of expression.

The Okavango Delta, one of the most incredible wilderness sanctuaries in Africa, is 15 000 square kilometres of water channels, lagoons and islands. It is home to large numbers of wildlife from common mammals and birdlife to those that are not often seen elsewhere, such as sitatunga, wild dog, and wattled crane. Our intent will be to inform you how to journey beyond shutter speeds and white balances into the heart of photography – making images that speak, images that tell stories, images that inform the mind and move the heart.

This once in a life time opportunity will be running for 4 nights on request up until the 31st of March 2021, for South African Residents and subject to availability at the time of booking. Including return flights from Johannesburg to Sable Alley!
