Iconic Namibia

Namibia offers a wide range of photographic opportunities due to its immense diversity. From its vibrant colors to the vast scales and striking contrasts of its deserts, the country provides the perfect canvas to tell a captivating story. At every turn, there is an alluring subject that easily captivates the viewer. Within Africa, Namibia stands out as an exceptional destination that will truly capture your heart. With its breathtaking desert and dune landscapes and exceptional wildlife sightings, Namibia has the power to bring out your artistic flair and ensure that your photographs will be nothing short of extraordinary. Join us as we explore and capture the stunning destinations of Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Twyfelfontein, Okaukuejo, and Onguma. You will travel with passionate locals who know each destination like their own backyard. The most important part of the safari for us is that each participant gets individual assistance at the level they are at. Our goal is to send you home with great memories, even better photos, and some valuable new knowledge and skills.

HIGHLIGHTS

Safari Highlights
  • The Okaukuejo waterhole is a world-famous photography paradise - the circular waterhole is flanked on the left by a beautiful tree and on winter nights it is a hive of animal activity from dusk to dawn. We are staying in the waterhole chalets, which means you can shoot the floodlit water- hole all night long from the safety of the elevated amphitheater.
  • Etosha National Park offers abundant wildlife photography opportunities, including elephants, lions, rhinos, giraffes, and various antelope species. Mid mornings and late afternoons at the fossil calcrete pans are extremely productive. We are spending 3 nights at Etosha’s top lodge, Onguma, where we will have free reign of their private 34 000 hectare private reserve, all of Etosha’s water- holes and their purpose-built photographic hides.
  • Benefit from individual assistance tailored to your photography skills and interests, ensuring you capture the best shots at each location.

Photography Highlights
  • Capture the colossal orange dunes of Sossusvlei, especially at sunrise and sunset when the light creates dramatic contrasts.
  • Capture the highlights of the incredible Namibian coastline’s diverse wildlife and landscapes from the land, sea and air.
  • Experience the best of Namibia’s German heritage and culinary scene in the beautiful coastal town of Swakopmund.
  • Track desert elephants in the beautiful Huab river valley. We’ll be hoping to capture them in soft orange light amongst the ancient acacia trees that thrive in the ephemeral river bed. The Huab is also home to Giraffe, Oryx and countless other wildlife and provides stunning landscape back- drops for animal-in-the-landscape photos.

Testimonials

What C4 Photo Safaris guests say

The self drive photographic tour of Namibia was exceptional. Thanks to Shem (for the chauffeur driven tour) and Denis Glennon of Iconic Images in Perth for the most fantastic photographic trip imaginable. One of the really enjoyable aspects was the access to the photographers and the help they offered with good grace and understanding of my limited ability. While I have photographed wildlife before with Shem and Denis in Kenya this trip was especially good as I learnt about landscape photography. It went well beyond my expectations and I have come home with some truly amazing images.jpg accommodation, meals and the places we visited were superb. Shem and Denis had really done their homework.jpge were many highlights but just to mention a few, the balloon flight over the dunes at Sossusvlei, the sunrise and sunset shoots at Dead Vlei and the leopard hide at Okonjima.jpgks also to my fellow travellers for their company and friendship.

Helen Newnham

C4 Images provided a wonderful atmosphere and location to learn landscape photography. I produced wonderful images and became more versed with my cameras manual settings. It was a wonderful way to spend a vacation!

Brian and Shelly Kirkpatrick

The Namibian Photographic Workshop was an excellent overall experience.jpgestinations were carefully chosen. The input of Shem and Hougaard throughout the trip made it an excellent learning experience with enough practical experience balanced with presentations.
